Hey, Y’all!

Sorry for being a little M.I.A. lately. My weekends where I get to do most of my blog prep have been filled with out-of-town weddings and other events lately. I have been having the best summer yet, but haven’t gotten a chance to get caught up. Hoping for a break in August (fingers crossed). 😉

With all the running around lately, I have found that dresses have been the easiest for me to literally, “throw on and go!” I have to be at work super early; 7:30 am is way too early for me. Really, anything before noon is too early, but I will spare you all my sassy attitude when it comes to being a contributing human of society. I am much more of a night owl! 🙂 You can imagine when my alarm goes off at 6 am (when I don’t have spin) I am probably snoozing a couple of times until both of my dogs decide it is time to get up. This usually consists of Ruby sitting on my head or Violet jumping on me until I am officially awake! With both Ruby & Violet forming their new habit of sleeping in my bed at night, I am always out of bed before 6:30 am and ready to start my day.

The idea of pants lately hasn’t sounded too great since we are pushing 90-100 degrees every day in Houston. Alas, dresses have become my go-to option for work and just about every other event!

I found this dress the other day during my normal afternoon “online shop-a-thon” and knew I had to have it! It is currently available in all sizes and has been reduced to $40 from $90! Talk about a deal. I wore this to dinner and then work yesterday and received so many compliments. Just add some earrings and it is perfect to “throw on and go!” Plus, it comes in a black gingham print, and definitely see this dress easily transitioning into fall or pre-fall. That is, at least for us Texans 😉 . Otherwise, it is a great dress for the price to get you through the summer!

I ordered an XS in this dress. Since it is a t-shirt dress, I wanted to size down as some tend to make me look a little larger in the mid- section than I would like. A small would have probably been fine, but I am happy with the XS. Also, the collar actually comes up a bit more. I just rolled it down to give it a more sassy look. It is very cute the other way, I just thought this was a little more fun for dinner in my current look. I have also been wearing my slides on repeat all summer long! The rust color actually goes with so much more than I thought! They were also $17 and have definitely passed my quality test for the price! Be sure to check out my sunglasses with my code “Word2thabyrdblog” for 20% off on your order.

I have also linked several other dress styles that are currently on sale! Hurry to get this gingham dress before it is sold out!

I hope everyone has a great week!
